On September 1, 2020 City Council approved Resolution 2020-358 adopting a rate increase for residential and commercial service.
On October 1, 2020 the garbage rate will increase by $1.11 for residential customers. The October bill will be prorated meaning the old rate will be used to calculate the charges prior to October 1st and the new rate will be used to calculate charges after October 1st. The current rates/fees for all services the City provides are on the mid-to-lower end of the scale and not sufficient to cover operating costs; the City does not have a financial plan for equipment maintenance and capital replacement for the Compost Facility; forestry functions are not adequately funded.
